Following the humiliating defeat to Iceland, they were reports of unrest and lack of players confidence in English coach Roy Hodgson. But the England captain Wayne Rooney has completely refutes such claim, saying they were all behind the coach at all times and trusted his judgments He was quoted to hav e said:   ‘In response to recent media reports, I’d like to say that [suggestions senior players lost faith in the manager are] completely untrue,’ the statement, released to Press Association Sport, reads.   ‘On behalf of the players, we completely supported the England manager but we understand his reasons for stepping down. We had absolute faith in the build-up and throughout the tournament.’

Roy Hodgson, though, was unsure why there was a need to attend a press conference to explain the Three Lions’ last-16 defeat to minnows Iceland. The former Fulham and Liverpool boss released a short statement after last night’s defeat to announce his resignation but refused to take questions on England’s defeat.

Borussia Dortmund according to report initially turned down two previous offers from Manchester United, before this new offer from the club.

According to report, Crystal Palace have had a shock €38million bid accepted by Marseille for highly-rated striker Michy Batshuayi. Batshuayi, the 22-year-old Belgian international, has been linked with moves to some of Europe’s leading clubs including Premier League heavyweights Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs in recent months. Having scored 17 Ligue 1 goals in 36 appearances last season, Batshuayi has continued to steadily build a reputation around his keen eye for a goal after regularly finding the net for the French side.

According to media report, Manchester United have reportedly informed Marcos Rojo to seek a transfer away this su mmer as he is not in Jose Mourinho’s plans. The Red Devils appointed the Portuguese at the end of May, and are now planning for next season, with Rojo not rated by the new boss. The Argentine defender is said to have offers from Spain, Italy and China, and United could accept as little as £9.7million for his signature, according to Duncan Castles of .

Argentina and Barcelona star, Lionel Messi retires after another final defeat from their rival Chile, in yet another COPA America final between the two countries. It was a tearful and heartbroken Messi, one we haven’t seen before, after the penalty shootout after the normal 90minutes of the game. Clearly, he blames himself for failing the team, after missing his spot kick, and also it was same Chile the lost to last year, and a third final miss in three years for the Argentina!!

Alexis Sanchez wins the Golden Ball as Chile beat Argentina again on penalty. Chile beat Argentina 4-2 on penalties in the final, with the match finishing 0-0 after 120 minutes at the M etLife Stadium in New Jersey. It was a repeat of the 2015 final where Chile beat Argentina 4-1 on penalties. The result prompted Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi to retire from international football following Argentina’s fourth major final defeat in nine years.

According to ort, Anthony Joshua made a successful first defence of his IBF heavyweight title as he knocked out Dominic Breazeale in the seventh round. The Londoner blitze d his American opponent from the opening bell and landed several big shots in a dominant opening round. It was more of the same in the second and Breazeale was visibly hurt as Joshua landed a clubbing left hook that send the 30-year-old crashing into the ropes. It looked as though it would just be a matter of time before the finish came but the 30-year-old showed heart and chin by repelling Joshua’s sustained attacks. However, he could not keep the Briton off for long and Joshua closed the show in a spectacular seventh round. He backed Breazeale into a corner and floored him with a series of huge right hands.

  According to media report, Anthony Joshua has spoken ahead of his IBF title defence against Dominic Breazeale, saying he wants to 'break him mentally' at Friday's weigh in. American Breazeale weighed at 255lbs - one stone heavier than Joshua -  before the pair went nose to nose and exchanged words in anticipation of Saturday's showdown. While the pair traded words in Covent Garden, there was a mutual respect between them which offers hope that the fight will be an entertaining one.

According to report Tyson Fury has withdrawn from his world heavyweight championship rematch with Wladimir Klitschko after suffering an ankle injury.   The world champion was running in the Lake District when he sprained his ankle, meaning he will be out of training for between six and seven weeks. He announced the postponement of the July 9 bout in Manchester, when the WBO, WBA and IBO belts were on the line, via a video posted on his Instagram account.  Fury said in the short clip: 'Hey guys, I 've got a little bit of bad news for you all, 'About 10 days ago I was running in the Lake District and I went over on my ankle and sprained my ankle.

According to rapper/ producer, Detail, Drake   drives a hard bargain and if he tries hiring you but you turn him down, he'll have someone beat you up The Producer, Detail already filed a lawsuit against Drake, claiming the Canadian rapper offered Detail a plum job back in 2014 as his exclusive producer.  Problem was alledgely started when Detail didn't want to be tied to one guy, so he declined. According to the lawsuit, the rejection didn't sit well with Drake, who became irate. Time passed but the bad feelings lingered. Detail claims in June 2014, Drake invited him to his Calabasas estate, on the pretext of working together again.

Shortly after she was pictured flashing her nipples and nipple piercing in a sheer top while out with BFFs Gigi Hadid and Hailey Baldwin in New York, she took to her website. "Living in the public eye can both build and test your confidence at the same time," she wrote. "Everything I do, everything I post and every picture that's taken of me is judged by everyone. Getting papped all the time and having my picture posted everywhere is not always fun.

Zlantan had earlier announced his retirement from the national team this week, was hoping to leave on a high, as he was playing his final game with Belgium, the team they lost to, after playing so well! Sweden's 1-0 defeat to Belgium with Radja Nainggolan's late stunner from 25 yards on Wednesday evening confirmed that they would finish bottom of Group E, and confirming their elimination from the competition.

  According to media report, the Portuguese Striker was out in France when a reporter came up to him, put the mic in his face and asked if he was prepared for the big Portugal vs. Hungary match later in the day.  Ronaldo casually snatched the mic and lobbed it over his shoulder ... sending it to a watery grave.  The reporter spoke with BBC after the incident and said, "I'm not sure why he did it. I think it was a momentary thing. I think he would not have done it if he had thought about it."
