PHOTO:Ryan Giggs departs Manchester United as Jose Mourinho replaces Louis van Gaal

Ryan Giggs will reject Jose Mourinho’s offer of a coaching role and end his 39-year stay with Manchester United, reports say.

The incoming Portuguese boss was willing to keep the Welshman as part of his coaching staff as United requested that he stayed at the club.

But Mourinho believes the 42-year-old will reject his offer to work under him.
Giggs has worked as assistant manager under Louis van Gaal for the past two years and had hoped to succeed the Dutchman when his contract was due to expire next year.

But with Van Gaal’s reign cut short and Mourinho set to be handed a lengthy contract, Giggs is set to leave.

Mourinho will now have to search for other alternatives as he looks to build his coaching team at the club.
What the future holds for Giggs is unknown.
