...wining the award, puts him in same rank with fellow Brazilians, such as Kaka, Thiago Silva, and Neymar...He said after winning the award:

“It means a lot. I'm very happy to know that this past year I have been recognised by many people. It was an important year for me and I'm very happy to win this award,” 
 “It was a good year. As a team, we played very well and we managed to get to two finals,” he added.
“Unfortunately, we did not win the finals win, we lost. That was a very difficult time for us to deal with the defeat [to Sevilla] but this certainly made the group stronger. 
“We started the season very well, at a high level. We all played very well, so, of course, 2016 was a good year. In the end I got injured, I missed a few games at the end of the year, but it was a positive year.”
On Jürgen Klopp’s influence on the Reds’ style of play  He said:
“The coach demands a lot from the group. We work hard as a group and of course Liverpool has great players,” he continued.
“Everyone has been playing well this season and has done what the coach has asked for. And in relation to that, the coach lets us do what we want on the field. 

“Of course, everyone has their responsibility, when they do not have the ball, they should mark, be in their position, defend. But he lets us do what we want. No one feels pressure determine who will make decisions and who will defend. Everyone works together, as a group.”

Whittier: Many Injured As Driver Run Into Jogging Law Enforcement Recruits

  A driver is reported to have slammed into more than two dozen law enforcement recruits while out on a run in Whittier, ABC7 reports.  According to the report, authorities say some of them suffered “life-altering injuries” that include head trauma, broken bones and loss of limbs. A class of about 75 recruits were running Wednesday morning as part of a training exercise when a 22-year-old driver crashed into the group in Whittier.  The victims and their injuries A total of five recruits are currently in critical condition, four are being treated for “moderate” injuries and 16 have minor injuries. Sheriff Alex Villanueva said at least one is on a ventilator, ABC7 reports. The recruits were all sent to various hospitals in the Whittier area, but the most critical patients were rushed before paramedics arrived.
