Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne has died at the age of 76. The music legend’s family,  including wife Sharon Osbourne , confirmed the news in a heartfelt statement – with his music publicist later telling the BBC that he died in the UK,  weeks after his final performance .   The message read: ‘It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning.   ‘He was with his family and surrounded by love.   ‘We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time.’   Ozzy’s cause of death has yet to be revealed, but he had  been open about his devastating battle with Parkinson’s  over the last few years.   Tributes quickly poured in  for the Paranoid singer on social media from other music giants.   The official Black Sabbath Instagram page shared a photo from their final performance, with the simple caption: ‘Ozzy forever.’ ...

Extreme athlete Felix Baumgartner, the first skydiver to fall faster than the speed of sound during a 24-mile leap through the stratosphere more than a decade ago, died in a crash along the eastern coast of Italy. He was 56. Italian firefighters who responded said a paraglider crashed into the side of a swimming pool in the city of Porto Sant Elpidio. Felix Baumgartner,   56, fell to the ground near the swimming pool of a hotel while flying over the village of Porto Sant'Elpidio in the eastern Marche region. Porto Sant'Elpidio's mayor, Massimiliano Ciarpella, said reports suggested Felix Baumgartner may have suffered a sudden medical issue mid-air. The Austrian daredevil made headlines in 2012 when he broke the world record - and the sound barrier -   for the highest-ever skydive, jumping from a balloon more than 39km (128,000 ft) up in the stratosphere. Stephen Colbert’s The Late Show cancelled by CBS as the show is to end next May, shuttering a decades-old TV institution in a changing media landscape and removing from air one of President Donald Trump’s most prominent and persistent late-night critics. Thursday’s announcement followed Stephen Colbert’s  criticism on Monday  of a  settlement between Trump and Paramount Global , parent company of CBS, over a “60 Minutes” story. Colbert told his audience at New York’s Ed Sullivan Theater that he had learned Wednesday night that after a decade on air, “next year will be our last season. ... Connie Francis has died aged 87, it has been reported. The legendary pop and country singer's death was confirmed by her friend Ron Roberts on Thursday, just  weeks after Connie was admitted to hospital in Florida. In a statement shared on  Facebook , Ron penned: 'It is with a heavy heart and extreme sadness that i inform you of the passing of my dear friend Connie Francis last night 'I know that Connie would approve that her fans are among the first to learn of this sad news.
