The English League Cup games started today, a league cup competition that was formerly known as Carling Cup, and later changed to Carabao cup saw some upsets on its first day. The upsets saw some Premier League teams being knocked out of the competition, with Liverpool as one of such big premier league club that was knocked out by Leicester City. See some of the results:

The Independent National Electoral Commission has released a fresh timetable on processes of recalling Senator Dino Melaye from Kogi West Senatorial District. This is coming after INEC won a case filed against it by the Senator stopping the recalling process. Senator Dino Melaye who had earlier laughed off the threat to recall him, now sensing the seriousness and likely political tsunami coming his way, was rumoured to have filed an appeal to set aside the judgment; but INEC is proceeding with the court judgment on the case. INEC  is acting on information brought to it by constituents of Kogi West Senatorial District, and have since, issued an amended schedule of activities of recalling the Senator. The 69th Emmy Awards which took place on Sunday,  as usual, was without some drama, but most importantly the African-American producers and writers alike were recognised. The 2017 edition of the award ceremony, for the first time saw blacks winning in some of the  categories which they were nominated for. See the winners:

History was made today, as Donald Glover becomes the first black director to win an Emmy award. Glover won the award for acting and directing in a Comedy Series.

In what looked like a victory song for the Federal government, after the sudden 'disappearance' of separatist  movement of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Lai Mohammed in a Press conference, has revealed those behind the group's activities. The group which hitherto, looked like something that was going to blow up in our faces before the 'operation python dance' declaration by  the military, has been described as the hand work of opposition by Information Minister, Lai Mohammed. The minister rubbished the opposition as those behind the movement, and also as sponsors of the leader Nnamdi Kanu. The Minister who made the shocking revelation, accused opposition politicians as brain behind the sudden emergence of Nnamdi Kanu and IPOB-Biafra, who before they were proscribed, threatened the unity of the country. The minister while speaking to press, called the opposition politicians as 'coalition of Politically disgruntled and treasury looters'  He said:
