Israeli Strike On Northern Gaza Injure A Parish Priest, Several Others

A parish priest and several others were injured after the Holy Family Church in northern Gaza was struck in an Israeli strike on Thursday morning, officials with the Catholic Church said, Associated Press (AP) reports. According to the report by AP, Parish priest Fr. Gabriel Romanelli was very close with the late  Pope Francis  and the two spoke often during the war in Gaza. The church, the only Catholic church in Gaza was damaged in the Israeli strike, officials said, in what witnesses said appeared to be an Israeli tank shelling. The church was sheltering both Christians and Muslims, including a number of children with disabilities, according to Fadel Naem, acting director of Al-Ahli Hospital, which received the wounded. At least two people were in critical condition, and others injured included one child with disabilities, two women, and an elderly person, Naem said. Iraq’s Mall Fire Kills More Than 60 People

A fire at a newly opened mall in eastern Iraq’s Wasit province killed more than 60 people, including women and children, Iraqi officials said Thursday, Associated Press (AP) reports. Iraq’s Ministry of Interior said in a statement that 61 people died, most of them from suffocation, in the fire that broke out late Wednesday in the city of Kut. Among the dead were 14 charred bodies that remain unidentified, it said, according to the report by AP. Civil defense teams were able to rescue more than 45 people who were trapped inside the building, the statement said. The mall, which had opened only a week earlier, was in a five-story building that also contained a restaurant and supermarket. The state-run Iraqi News Agency reported that people remained missing. Pete Davidson and Elsie Hewitt posted photos of herself and the  “Saturday Night Live”  alum with the caption: “welp now everyone knows we had sex.” She included a video of herself getting an ultrasound and an up-close sonogram image. Online Gun seller GrabAGun Digital Holdings, with the stock ticker “PEW,” made its market debut on Wednesday after board member and son of the U.S. president, Donald Trump Jr., rang the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange, Associated Press (AP) reports. Shares of the online Gunseller GrabAGun spiked at first but then sank, closing down nearly 24%. GrabAGun, which also sells ammunition and firearm accessories on its website, went public through a merger with a special acquisition company, or SPAC, named Colombier Acquisition Corp. The Palm Beach, Florida, company said the transaction netted it more than $119 million, which GrabAGun said will be used for working capital and “other purposes to accelerate the company’s future growth.” Special acquisition companies, sometimes called “blank check” companies, can give startups quicker and easier routes to getting their shares trading publicly, while avoiding the traditional scrutiny that comes with a more standard IPO. Lee Jae-yong: South Korea’s Top Court Upholds Acquittal Of Samsung Chairman

South Korea’s top court Thursday upheld the acquittal of Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong on financial  criminal charges , ending years of legal disputes over the 2015 merger between Samsung affiliates that solidified his control over the company, Associated Press (AP) reports. In 2024,  the Seoul Central District Court  acquitted Lee of charges like stock price manipulation and accounting fraud by ruling that prosecutors failed to sufficiently prove the merger was unlawfully conducted with an aim to strengthen Lee’s control over Samsung. The Seoul High Court  upheld the district court’s ruling in February, and the Supreme Court dismissed prosecutors’ appeal of the high court’s decision Thursday. Its ruling is final and cannot be appealed. Samsung’s lawyers said in a statement that they “sincerely thank” the Supreme Court for “wisely” ruling on the case. She was 51, Deadline reports. As CEO of talent management and production company Artistic Endeavors, Annet McCroskey was dedicated to empowering and fostering the dreams of young actors. Her   clients  scored roles for streamers, cable and broadcast nets and features.
