ENERGY: Eni gets the go ahead to construct Mozambique FLNG3.4mtpa facility!
The Italian
company according to media report, has been given the go ahead to contruct and
install a floating Liquefied natural gas facility in the country, offshore Mozambique.
The new facility
will be It located 2000 meters deep and approximately 80km offshore of the palma bay in the northern province of
Cabo Delgado.
The CEO of Eni, Claudio Descalzi, was quoted to have said that the project will
see "the installation of the first newly built floating LNG facility
in Africa".
The Council of Ministers, get the approval and
this is also similar to the first phase
of development of 5 trillion cubic feet of gas in the Coral discovery made in
May 2012.
Under the Area 4
development plan, the first one to be approved in the Rovuma Basin, apart
from the FLNG facility, six subsea wells are expected to be drilled.
The discovery is
estimated to contain around 16 trillion cubic feet (TCF) of gas in place.
