According to news report, Chelsea midfielder John
Obi Mikel says he’ll leave the Blues if he’s not guaranteed a regular
first-team spot next season.
The 28-year-old has a
year to run on his existing deal at Stamford Bridge and he’s waiting to speak
to incoming boss Antonio Conte before deciding on his future.
Having regained his
first-team spot since the turn of the year, Mikel is unwilling to accept a
bit-part role with the Blues and says he’ll leave if he’s not given regular
football.
‘I have one more season with Chelsea but I
know when this season ends, we will definitely sit down and try to sort out
whatever needs to be sorted out,’ said Mikel.
‘If it means me staying,
then I have to play because one thing I don’t want to do is to sit on the bench
like I did before.’
