PHOTO:Remi Garde throws in the towel with Aston Villa!!

Aston Villa have confirmed Remi Garde has left the club by mutual consent after less than six months in charge at Villa Park.

Assistant manager Eric Black will fill in as caretaker boss while Villa search for their fourth manager in just over a year.
Garde replaced Tim Sherwood back in November, but has failed to lift the club away from the bottom of the Premier League table, with relegation looking a near certainty.
With just two wins in twenty games in charge for the former Lyon boss, it’s clear change is needed if Villa are to stand any chance of improving on their current position between now and May.
A club statement read: ‘The Club would like to place on record its sincere thanks to Rémi for all his efforts during a difficult period and wish him well in the future.’

A quick look at recent Villa managers’ records suggests Garde’s tenure has certainly been a huge failure, with predecessors Sherwood and Paul Lambert faring much better:
