The Frenchman is currently enduring one his most difficult spells as Arsenal boss, battling fan protests as yet another Premier League title bid collapses mid-season leaving fourth place the only target remaining.

The Emirates stadium can be seen with thousands of empty seats as the season continues to wind down but Wenger, who has insisted his plans to see out his contract, has called for the fans to follow in the footsteps of Premier League rivals Liverpool.
Liverpool, who have always been known for their passionate Anfield support, have hit the headlines this season after their vociferous support inspired a famous comeback victory over Borussia Dortmund in the Europa League and Wenger has called for Arsenal fans to follow their lead:

‘You speak about Liverpool [and their atmosphere],’ he said. ‘It’s a good example to follow.
‘Look, I can understand the frustration of our fans, but as well, despite that, we want to support our team. The best chance you can give to the team is to be behind the team.
‘They should not question the character of these players because they are exceptional characters. We are disappointed, but we have to fight. We have to stick together
‘We lost the championship at home against the lower teams, but we played sometimes at home in a very difficult climate.
‘We have to realise that away from home we are championship winners.’
