PHOTO:Claudio Ranieri honoured as knigh in Italy after Leicester City Premier League title win! congratulations to him

Claudio Ranieri after doing the unthinkable with Leicester City in the English premiership this past season, is to be knighted in his home country,  Italy for his shock Premier League title triumph this season.

The 64-year-old masterminded one of the biggest shocks in the history of the sport as his unfancied Leicester side won their first ever English top flight title just a year after narrowly surviving relegation.

And the former Chelsea boss will now be granted the third highest ranking of Italian Knights by president Sergio Mattarella for ‘merits acquired by the nation’ in sports.
The title sits a level above what Italy’s players received for World Cup wins in 1982 and 2006.

This is a richly deserved honour for Ranieri, who has unsurprisingly been named LMA Manager of the Year and even been tipped for a possible knighthood in the UK.
The Italian is also sure to go down forever as a legend in Leicester, with a local couple recently naming their daughter after him!
