According to report, Crystal
Palace have had a shock €38million bid accepted by Marseille for
highly-rated striker Michy Batshuayi.
Batshuayi, the
22-year-old Belgian international, has been linked with moves to some of
Europe’s leading clubs including Premier League heavyweights Chelsea, Arsenal
and Spurs in recent months.
Having scored 17 Ligue 1
goals in 36 appearances last season, Batshuayi has continued to steadily
build a reputation around his keen eye for a goal after regularly finding the
net for the French side.
Reports coming out of France claim that Crystal Palace owner Steve Parish has attempted to beat the host of Premier League clubs chasing the Belgian and, in a shock move, offered the French club €38m with bonuses and a percentage for resale – the offer was accepted ‘within minutes’
It is
believed Batshuayi has been made aware of the accepted offer but has yet
to offer his thoughts, remaining undecided about a move to Selhurst Park.
Currently away with
Belgium at Euro 2016, Batshuayi deflected transfer talk earlier in the
summer but couldn’t resist declaring his desire to play in the Premier League:
‘I don’t think about
that, I prefer to concentrate 100 per cent on the Euros, then we will see what
happens,’
‘Everybody likes the
Premier League. It has a lot of spectacle, a lot of goals and many good
players,’ he added.
