PHOTO:Manchester City has refused to up their £40m bid for John Stones, as Everton are insisting on £50m for the out of form defender
According to media report, Manchester City have told Everton they will not be held to ransom over John Stones, as City have had a £40million bid for the England defender turned down by Everton, who want £50m.
But insist they will not go higher
than their £40m valuation and will look elsewhere if that bid is not accepted.
Stones is desperate to join up with new
City manager Pep Guardiola and has told Everton of his desire to leave.
But the 22-year-old could be priced out
of a move for the second summer running by his Goodison Park bosses. He was
denied a move to Chelsea last summer when Everton refused to accept their £37m
bid, holding out for £40m.
The Merseysiders value the centre-back
even more highly a year on, but City sporting director Txiki Begiristain is
adamant £40m is the club’s final offer.
