Beyonce’s songwriter was alleged to have finally
revealed the truth behind the controversial ‘Becky with the good hair’ lyric.
The superstar sent her
fans into a frenzy when she released her track Sorry earlier this year.
The Beehive were quick to point fingers and accused a number of
women of being Becky, including fashion designer Rachel Roy and also former X factor
judge Rita Ora.
But according to the
songwriter Diana Gordon (formerly known as Wynter Gordon), Becky doesn’t refer
to anyone in particular
Speaking to a reporter, she said: "I laughed, like
this is so silly. Where are we living?”
Brushing off all the
wild speculation, she continued: "I was like, 'What day in age from that
lyric do you get all of this information? Is it really telling you all that
much, accusing people?’"

Both Rachel, whose ex
husband is Jay Z's old business partner, and Rita, who was previously signed to
the rapper's Roc Nation record label, came forward to say they definitely
aren’t Becky.
The designer said in a
statement: "There is no validity to the idea that the song references me
personally. There is no truth to the rumours.”
While new America’s
Next Top Model host Rita shared: “I never usually address tabloid gossip but
let me be clear, these rumours are false.
"I have nothing
but the upmost respect for Beyoncé. Let’s continue enjoying Lemonade.”
