PHOTO: Barcelona joins the likes of Chelsea, United and Real Madrid, as they sign a five year, £200million new shirt sponsorship deal with Japanese company, Rakuten

The deal which looks like a replacement for the Qatar Airways contract, is for five years, after the Qatar shirts have been under market value for some seasons now, the European giant are turning to Rakuten for revitalization.
 The company which is a Japanese e-commerce giant (Rakuten ) are looking to work with Barcelona to boast their  revenues  all over the world, and the company is rumoured to worth about  £5.24bn and this deal could see that amount rise, especially with their focus on the Asian market.

Barcelona after the signing of the deal, put a statement out that said:
"FC Barcelona and Rakuten Inc., a dynamic global company leading the way in e-commerce, communications, digital content and FinTech services for consumers and businesses around the world, have reached an agreement for the Japanese company to become the main global sponsor of the Club and to appear on the front of the first team’s jersey for the next four seasons, beginning in 2017/18.
Also, Barcelona defender Gerard Pique, has been said to be the brain behind the new deal, as he set up his plans to one day be the president of the club.
According to statement credited to the vice president, the deal could reach £53million per season, with a base payment of £48m that could be massaged by up to £5.5m in bonuses depending on the club's success
