PHOTO: Lagos Lawmaker, one, Mr. Segun Olulade calls reality show, ‘Bigbrother Naija’ immoral and government needs to end it now’’

The popular reality show on pay TV, DStv, has come under huge criticism yet again, as the show which has been off the air for some year now, due to reasons best known to the organizers...made a returned with BBNaija early this year, with all Nigerian contestants, and has been condemned by some prominent Nigerians...

First, it was the name ‘Naija’ being used to describe Nigeria, which the NBC frowned against, and urge Nigerians to go against it...few reacted to it though, while majority kept a deaf-ear to the call...especially when Efe and Ese are giving you the best of entertainment...

...now, is the turn of a Lagos Lawmaker, who has rubbished the show, calling it ‘immoral’ and the Minister of Information should end the show, all because in his view, does not represent the ‘Nigerian culture’...What is even the Nigerian Culture...corruption?

The lawmaker who I think never saw the show, or had no idea what the show was all about, until it was brought to the GOtv customers...LOL...was quoted to have said:
“We have culture and tradition in this country that we must not allow to die.

“The Federal Government, through the Minister of Information and Culture, needs to reconsider the implications of Big Brother Naija on our culture and youths.

“The content of Big Brother Naija reality show is alien to our culture...
...Even if you end the show on Tv, there is the internet...so Mr lawmaker, wake up!!
...What ever a contestant does or decide to do to win himself or herself the price money, is non of our business...an individual or group of individuals, actions or inaction cannot be used to generalize the culture of millions of people...

...the show will end, and they will be left to live with the consequences of their actions...Mr lawmaker, it is not a 'culture' show...

...moreover, since the introduction of the show, from it days as Bigborther SouthAfrica, to Bigbrother Africa, we have seen worst ...
in terms of 'immoral' acts...but we are more civilized now, to tell television is all about make believe...even reality shows!

...The show has made a lot of millionaires within and outside Nigeria...and the world today, has gone beyond where a single individual could decide what and what not millions of Nigerians can view on TV...we all have rights...

If you feel the show is not good for you and family, simply do the right thing and block the station...via Parental Guardiance... or call customer care...LMAO
