PHOTO: Xenophobia: Abuja residents’ attacks and Vandalised MTN office in Abuja- Phuthuma Nhleko

The continuous looting of properties owned by Nigerians and killing of Nigerians in South Africa, today triggered a similar response from some yet to be identified Nigerians in the Federal Capital, Abuja; vandalizing and beating up customers and workers alike to register their bitterness...

Though the report as being reported by the MTN spokes person cannot be established yet, while speaking to news reporters, said:

“They are protesting against the xenophobic attacks on Nigerians in South Africa. It’s our regional head office in Abuja. That’s where we have our customer care centre,”

“They vandalised equipment, stole customer phones and ipads...some customers too were attacked”
While insisting the attack was a serious one, the spokes person said:

"This was not just some people on the street throwing stones, they broke into the building and stole things and broke things”

...meanwhile, the Chairman of MTN is meeting with the acting President Osinbajo on the issue...

...I feel is time Nigeria and Nigerians need to send a message to the South African people, that enough is enough...their businesses in Nigeria will definitely suffer if they continue to harass and kill Nigerians who go about their legitimate businesses...

Nigerian leaders know nothing but to collect bribe while their citizens get killed like chickens at every opportunity...is a big shame on our leaders...

...MTN takes home billions of dollars from Nigeria, yet they have no respect for Nigeria and Nigerians...in no time, you see our police men and women guiding their premises, but the South African police, aided the mobs they killed and looted properties belonging to Nigerians...Tufia!
