PHOTO: Lagos state government warns Lagosians on Live bands stop the noise pollution or pay N500,000

The Lagos State Government, through Lagos State Environment Protection Agency, LASEPA, has warned the people of Lagos, to be careful on how they pollute the environment with “noise”...

Though there has been laws on noise pollution in the state, but little has been done to carrying out the laws, with just few exceptions...

...But the state government are now coming out stronger now, and are ready to enforce the laws...on the usual culprits...Churches and Mosques...CD-players-sellers on the streets and markets, Bars/Joints, Restaurants...
...I do not think Bus conductors were included in the list of noise makers...
According to the General Manager of Lagos State Environment Protection Agency, LASEPA, one Mr Adebola Shabi, who said due to increasing rate of petition by Lagosians, the Lagos state government is going tough in the fight to reduce the rate of noise in the state...here are four laws of the state and Lagosians needs to be aware of:

1-Owners of bars and restaurants can no longer be disturbing residents with their live band music. If they do, they will be punished.
2. Churches will have to install sound proof which must be acoustic to minimize their noise which some residents are not comfortable with.
3. Any new church to be built must come and get a sign-off from the agency.
4. If the residents complain about your noise, you will be sanctioned and you will pay a fine of N500,000.
Bars, restaurants and religious houses will have to adhere or be used as scapegoat.
