PHOTO: Eko Electricity Distribution Company set to shutdown Ikoyi and VI, as they announce a five day blackout

The Electricity Distribution Company in Lagos state (Eko distribution) has released a statement, asking the residents of Ikoyi, Victoria Island and some other parts of Lagos state to be ready to experience a total black out for five days....

...The Distribution company was alleged to have released the statement, saying they are about to carry out a ‘maintenance’ work on their facilities....see the statement:

“In a statement, Godwin Idemudia, EKEDC spokesman, said the outage was to enable the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) address technical issues at Alagbon transmission station in the state.

We want to inform our esteem customers that from Wednesday, May 24 to Sunday, May 28, there will be an outage within Ikoyi, Victoria Island and parts of Lagos Island,” the statement read.

This is to enable TCN maintenance crew to resolve some technical issues within Alagbon transmission stations.”

...If you ask me, I would say, the announcement is unnecessary because as Nigerians, we are already used to 'blackout'...the statement is just another way for the distribution companies to exploit innocent Nigerians...even with the blackout, we still are paying through our noses...nonsense NEPE...lol
