Former Stoke City defender, with alot of Premier League experience, Bardsley today, signed for Burnley. As the club look to build for next season, and maintain their premier league status, they are bringing more experience.

Bardsley, 32, will be their second signing from Stoke, after bringing in Walters, and the two of them are coming with alot of experience...

While unveiling the new signing, manager Sean Dyche insist:

“Phil brings experience. He knows the division and his way around it and he knows there’s a real competitive element to the squad and he’ll have to earn the right to play,”

“We like players who have a demand about themselves and I think he’s certainly got that.
“He will know he will have to fit into the nature of the group, but there’s a manliness about him and “Jon Walters.

They have been around the block a bit and know what the Premier League offers and some of the demands of it.

That’s really important. We want competition and slowly but surely we keep adding to the group.

“We’ve done that now over a long period and that’s what we have to do; to keep trying to push the team forward, whether that’s by development of players from inside, which I mentioned at the end of last season, when players continue to mature, or whether that’s people coming from the outside.

“We got that bit more experience about the group now with Jon and Phil coming in and there’s a healthy mixture at the minute.

“It’s all about that challenge of having a team and squad that can handle the Premier League, but the bigger picture of the club needs addressing too and that involves finding that right balance.
“Are we still developing players, but have we still got the experience that can rub off on the younger players and we are always trying to find that.”
