After winning the 2017 FIBA Women African Championship, the Nigerian female Basketball team, famously known as D'Tigress, were finally received by President Buhari at the State house.

The President who received the team at the executive council meeting, praised the girls for the win, while also promising N1million naira each for the girls and 500,000 for each of the officials.

While we thank the President for welcoming and receiving the girls, we also would want to add that having won all their games in the just concluded FIBA African Championship, and coming home with the cup, the girls deserve more than just N1million naira. I mean any body who saw the girls in Mali play, even if you are not a fan of Basketball, you will appreciate the passion and determination shown by these young and talented Nigerians; especially in the final game against Senegal.

I know most people would want to argue that the girls were playing for their country and it was a service to father land, and what have you.
But if it were their male counterpart in football, they would have gotten far more than the N1million being promised.

The Minister of Sports need to see that these girls that have done Nigerians and Nigeria proud, are properly appreciated, even though they are not asking for anything, we must learn to properly and adequately appreciate our sports men and women, on equal ground, especially those ones that have done the country proud.

  Pete Davidson’s mom is marking his birthday, as she took to her official social media handle to post throwback photos of the comedian to mark his 29th birthday.  Pete Davidson’s mom, Amy Davidson, posted the comedian photo when he was still a kid to celebrate him as he clocks a year older. Whittier: Many Injured As Driver Run Into Jogging Law Enforcement Recruits

  A driver is reported to have slammed into more than two dozen law enforcement recruits while out on a run in Whittier, ABC7 reports.  According to the report, authorities say some of them suffered “life-altering injuries” that include head trauma, broken bones and loss of limbs. A class of about 75 recruits were running Wednesday morning as part of a training exercise when a 22-year-old driver crashed into the group in Whittier.  The victims and their injuries A total of five recruits are currently in critical condition, four are being treated for “moderate” injuries and 16 have minor injuries. Sheriff Alex Villanueva said at least one is on a ventilator, ABC7 reports. The recruits were all sent to various hospitals in the Whittier area, but the most critical patients were rushed before paramedics arrived.
