PHOTO: Tammy Abraham finally ditched Nigeria for England, as he gets England call up

This latest move by England to invite Nigerian Tammy Abraham to England national team, did not come as a surprise, as it has been long coming.

The young Chelsea forward has been in incredible form this past few seasons, from the Championship up to the premier league, to deserve a call-up, either from Nigeria or England. But the question that is begging for answers is that was it a right decision for Tammy to pick England over Nigeria, where he stands a good chance not only to win trophies and get a first-team shirt, even make the world cup cut than England where he is likely to be used for just friendly games, and miss the cut to the world cup? No doubt England are great football playing side, with no trophy to show for it...1966...lol...sorry, had to just rub that in...lol.

On a more serious note, I feel the news of Tammy Abraham getting a call-up to the England senior national team is a bad news for Nigeria as it is for Tammy Abraham. Before you think too far, I am not wishing the young man ill-luck, for ditching Nigeria for England National team. Far from that, as I have been a fan of his, and I still am. Also, Nigeria as a country has far more talented players than England, and this was on display in the England U17 and U20 teams that won the world cup.

I just cannot see how this one (Tammy) will not go in the way of the previous ones. I mean with the caliber of strikers England presently have in their ranks at the moment, you cannot help but feel sorry for this young man. It has always been a short career in the England National team for most Nigerians who ditched their fatherland for England. The most you can get is a cameo appearance in a friendly, or one or two games in international level, and you are dumped! only a few made it far, and until this day, if you ask them, they will tell you, if they had the same opportunity again, they will pick Nigeria...

In all, we say big congratulations to Tammy for his call-up...na still we pikin...
