Carantec: Family Of 5 And A Dog Found Dead Inside A Home In France
The French Police have discovered bodies of five family members and their dog in a home in Carantec (Finistère), AFP reports.
According to the report, the Police found the father hanged and the lifeless bodies of the mother and two daughters. These murders took place after the separation of the murdered couple.
The murders were discovered on Sunday morning, in the small seaside town of Carantec, in Finistère.
The bodies of the four members of the same family, the father, the mother and two little girls, were found dead in their house, after their grandmother, which is the mother of the wife alerted the Police.
She made the discovery after she had not been able to reach her daughter since Saturday.
According to the report by AFP, when they arrive in the small house located in a hamlet of Carantec, everything seems to be in order. Until they discover the body of the father, 41, hanging in the stairwell. The bodies of the couple’s children, two girls aged 8 and 11, were found dead in their respective beds.
Upstairs, they finally discover the body of the mother, 38, in the marital bed. The family dog was also found dead.
According to the first findings of the investigators, they do not present any external injury. According to a press release from the Brest prosecutor on Sunday evening, the drama would be part of a context of the couple’s separation.
In the town, residents are in shock. “They were great people, nice, nothing to say. They had bought another piece of land next door and then they seemed to be well established here. There is no indication that someone was going to commit such a barbaric act. “It’s a shock. We have two daughters too. That we could hang each other, that we could separate, but kill his wife and his two children, his dog… It’s really beyond comprehension, I don’t understand” , indicates a neighbor.
An investigation is opened for counts of intentional homicides. Autopsies will now be performed to determine the causes of death.
