Tom Holland Corrects Reporter Who Refers To Zendaya His Girlfriend Rather Than Fiancée
The couple confirmed their engagement when Zendaya debuted her ring on the Golden Globes in January after four years of dating.
And Spider-Man star Tom Holland, 29, wanted
to make sure everyone knows the actress, also 29, is his fiancé now.
During a panel interview, a journalist said
to Tom Holland: 'I brought my daughter, and she got to meet your girlfriend.
So, I was father of the year.'
Tom laughed and corrected him by saying:
'fiancée'.
The pair have been together since 2021 and
the pair own a $3.7 million home together in London's leafy Richmond
According to Daily Mail, sources had previously
revealed that Tom Holland took an 'old-fashioned' approach and got permission
from Zendaya's family before he asked for his Spider-Man: Homecoming co-star's
hand in marriage.
'The proposal was sweet and romantic and
happened over the holidays,' the insider dished. 'He did it the old-fashioned
way and got permission from her folks. Everyone is thrilled.'
The source continued: 'They are the most
normal couple at home, and she is ready to spend her life with him.
'She has gotten everything she dreamed of and
marrying Tom and starting a family is next on her list.'
Tom has proven what a good partner he is to Zendaya in the past
and was seen carrying her Louis
Vuitton handbag when they left the Venice Film Festival in
2023.
In October 2024, Tom went viral for
protecting his fiancée from a group of photographers in New York.
The film star showed off his chivalrous side
as he kept Zendaya close behind him as they stepped out to a wall of paparazzi.
Holding her hand and placing a protective
hand on her back, the Brit star said: 'Guys watch out!' as the couple
tried to get to a car.
He then said: 'give us a little bit of
space' before they headed off.'
The star was also seen declaring 'get out of
the f*****g way' as he helped Zendaya - who was being swarmed by fans and
paparazzi - took her hand and led her into the event earlier in the evening.
Fans quickly took to social media to brand
him a 'king' with one writing: 'wasn't fully familiar with Mr. Holland's game
but this is a MAN'.
Another typed: 'Yes, this is why we love ya
king.'
Others wrote: 'Damn major props to Tom
Holland protecting Zendaya' and 'and you know where this would happen a Notting
Hill style remake starring Zendaya and Tom Holland.'
'i knew i could trust tom holland to protect
zendaya' and 'he spiderman in real life!'
Zendaya has previously told how much she
loves working with Tom, saying: 'It's like second nature, if anything. You
feel extra safe with the person you're acting beside.
'I love working with him. He's so talented,
and so passionate about what he does.'
