loss.
She previously confessed to using Ozempic as
'a tool' to manage her weight.
In late 2023, the Mississippi-born superstar
revealed how she shed pounds by making a lifestyle change.
'It's not one thing, it's everything. I intend to keep it that way,' she
told Entertainment Tonight at
the time.
Oprah Winfrey previously insisted that she had not turned to weight loss drugs. She opened up
about body image while speaking at a panel in New York City for Oprah Daily's
The Life You Want series in September 2023.
'I don't know that there is another public
person whose weight struggles have been exploited as much as mine,' she
reflected during a conversation with Weight Watchers CEO Sima Sistani,
psychologist Rachel Goldman, and obesity specialists Fatima Cody Stanford and
Melanie Jay.
She noted she once thought, 'I felt I've got
to do this on my own because if I take the drug, that's the easy way out.'
Shortly after the panel, the Color Purple
star confessed about using GLP-1 medication, 'I now use it as I feel I need it,
as a tool to manage not yo-yoing.'
'It quiets the food noise,' she revealed to People in
December 2023.

struggle with her weight in the forthcoming book Enough: Your Health, Your
Weight, and What It’s Like to Be Free, written by Dr. Ania Jastreboff, MD,
PhD.
Last week she teased on Instagram,
'Throughout the pages of this book, I’ll be sharing my personal experiences
with weight and the lifelong struggle I carried until I learned it’s not about
willpower, it’s about biology and your brain.'
The multihyphenate is getting ready to embark
on a speaking engagement tour in Australia and New Zealand.
She initially announced the endeavor on
social media in late August, posting on Instagram, 'Can’t wait to be back in
Australia and New Zealand for the first time in 10 years! Bring your friends,
cousins, siblings—everybody! Link in bio for tickets on @tegdainty.'
The first event will be held in Sydney on
December 4, and the final one will take place in Auckland on December 14.
