Ariana Grande And Ethan Slater Spend Christmas Together
Ariana Grande and Ethan Slater continued to put split rumors to rest on the day after Christmas by sharing the same Instagram Story posts with their personal photos.
Ariana Grande and Ethan Slater took to social media on
Boxing Day to share photos of an intimate gathering with friends, seemingly
confirming that they spent time together during the holiday season.
Slater, 33, shared two short clips of the pop star, 32,
posing with her dog Toulouse and smiling adoringly at him behind the camera.
Though Slater did not make an appearance in
the posts, Grande reposted his Instagram Stories on her own page shortly afterward
with the addition of pink heart stickers.
Just this week, Ariana Grande and Ethan Slater also shut down
speculation of a breakup when Slater went
to support Grande at her hosting gig on Saturday Night Live after
weeks of them not making any public appearances together.
She also reshared a photo, posted by her close friend
Doug Middlebrook, of them sitting beside their pals Bowen Yang and Harry Moore.
In the photos, Grande wore a classic, elegant
outfit for their holiday get-together.
She had on a black turtleneck sweater paired with
matching pants, along with a contrasting, cream-colored headband as her
statement accessory.
She appeared to be wearing little to no makeup, and she
had her now-strawberry blonde hair pulled back into a polished bun.
On the same day, both Grande and Slater also
shared footage of a deleted scene from Wicked.
Grande starred as Glinda the Good in the two-part
Wicked movie adaptation, while Slater appeared in
a supporting role as Boq.
In the never-before-seen video — a throwback montage —
they were seen in a flashback to their characters' time in school together.
The clip showed the pair on a wholesome outing with their
friends — Cynthia Erivo's Elphaba, Jonathan Bailey's Fiyero and Marissa Bode's
Nessarose.
The video included a kiss scene between Glinda and
Fiyero, which Grande reposted — but Slater did not.
Grande and Slater were first romantically
linked when sources revealed the costars started dating in the summer of 2023,
after their respective divorce filings earlier that year.
The couple sparked heavy backlash following the first
Wicked film's premiere, as fans speculated that their romance overlapped with
their marriages.
When production kicked off in December 2022, Grande was
still married to Dalton Gomez, while Slater was married to his high school
sweetheart, Lilly Jay.
Jay, a clinical psychologist, had also just
given birth to their newborn son.
In between kicking off and wrapping filming for Wicked,
the two costars had separated from their partners and their
friendship-turned-romance sparked speculation and backlash.
When Grande and her costars started
promoting Wicked: For Good, the Yes, And? singer
and Slater were once again the subject of rumors, as fans speculated this time
that they had broken up.
Amid their promo tour, the pair were rarely
seen together in public, and the absence sparked rumors that their romance had
fizzled out after just two years.
Earlier this year, fans speculated that Grande and Slater
might have broken up, as they had not been seen together for months.
However, just last week, Grande hosted Saturday
Night Live, which coincided with her Wicked costar Bowen Yang's final episode
on the long-running sketch-comedy show.
In photos shared by Grande's former costar and best
friend, Liz Gillies, Slater was seen at the Grammy winner's dressing room to show
his support — effectively shutting down split rumors.
Fellow performer Aaron Simon Gross was pictured with
Slater and Gillies in a cozy snapshot of them on a couch.
The previous week, the 7 Rings hitmaker had also
attempted to quash the rumors by sharing a video of her boyfriend reflecting on
his character's arc in Wicked: For Good.
They also previously quieted the rumor mill in November
while attending the New York City premiere of the musical movie.
